Mother’s Day is the perfect moment to make your mum the center of attention. Summer bulbs like gladioli, dahlias, lilies, and begonias are a perfect gift on this day. Does your mother like one specific color? Or does she prefer many different colors, or perhaps specific flowers like dahlias, gladioli, or other unusual summer flowering bulbs? Depending on your mother’s tastes, you can give her different types and colors of summer bulbs. And if your mum has a balcony or patio, rather than a garden: you can plant all bulbs in a pot, no problem.
Tips
- Put together a beautiful flower bulb package. Gift-wrap them nicely in a basket or (self-painted) flower pot, for example. Add some gardening tools, garden gloves, or fertilizer to finish off the gift.
- Write a nice message in a (handmade) card to let her know how much she means to you.
- If you are giving bulbs for a pot or balcony container, it’s best to choose low-growing varieties, to avoid them getting knocked over by the wind.
- Quality time! Give your mum the flower bulb gift on Mother’s Day and offer to plant the bulbs for or with her. She will be surprised by the lovely gesture!
